From rock legends and chart stars to Europe’s strongest athletes, family favourites, and even a surprise Rick Roll, it was another month where no two shifts were the same.

By the end of April, the arena had hosted everything from giant strongman equipment to catwalks, dollhouses, and some of the biggest names in music.

April 2nd – Richard Ashcroft (Music)

April began with Richard Ashcroft, bringing his unmistakable voice and a catalogue of songs that have stood the test of time.

The atmosphere inside the arena felt almost nostalgic, with fans singing along to every word. It was one of those nights where the crowd did just as much of the singing as the artist.

Once the lights came up, it was time for the usual transformation from concert venue back to a clean arena floor.

April 4th – James (Music)

Just two days later, James arrived in Leeds.

Known for their energetic live shows, the band had the crowd on their feet throughout the night. The arena was full of movement, lights, and plenty of singalongs.

By the end of the show, the floor was covered with the usual collection of cups and programme leaflets, but the atmosphere left behind was worth every sweep of the mop.

April 11th – Europe’s Strongest Man (Sport)

One of the most physically impressive events of the year returned to Leeds Arena.

Europe’s Strongest Man brought giant tyres, enormous weights, and athletes capable of lifting things most people wouldn’t even attempt to move.

The arena floor looked completely different from a concert setup. Instead of speakers and instruments, there were giant pieces of equipment everywhere.

Watching the competitors push themselves to their limits was incredible, and by the end of the night there was a real sense of appreciation for what these athletes can do.

April 14th – Gabby’s Dollhouse Live (Family Event)

A complete change of pace came with Gabby’s Dollhouse Live.

The arena was packed with families and excited children, many arriving dressed as their favourite characters.

Events like this always bring a cheerful atmosphere. The clean-up usually involves plenty of popcorn tubs, drinks bottles, and the occasional forgotten toy.

It was colourful, energetic, and a reminder that the arena isn’t just for concerts and sporting events.

April 17th – YUNGBLUD (Music)

The energy level immediately jumped back up with YUNGBLUD.

From the moment the crowd arrived, there was a buzz around the building. The show was loud, passionate, and full of the kind of energy that only YUNGBLUD seems able to create.

Even after the final song ended, you could still feel the excitement hanging in the air as the clean-up began and he even got someone up to sing fleabag and chant Yorkshire over and over again and did a nod to Leeds as he’s from Donny ( Doncaster ) cos of Leeds helping him record his records.

April 18th – Rick Astley (Music)

Then came a night I never thought I’d write about.

Rick Astley arrived at Leeds Arena.

And yes…

He absolutely Rick Rolled us.

The crowd loved every second of it, and honestly, if you’re going to get Rick Rolled, being Rick Rolled by Rick Astley himself is probably the best way possible.

A brilliant atmosphere, loads of smiles, and one of those nights that everyone seemed to leave talking about.

April 22nd – The Prodigy (Music)

The pace didn’t slow down for long.

The Prodigy brought pure energy to the arena. The lights, bass, and atmosphere created one of the loudest nights of the month.

The floor shook, the crowd bounced, and by the time the final track finished, you could feel the effects of the night everywhere.

A huge clean-up job, but one of those events that reminds you why live music is so special.

April 23rd – Fashion Ball (Private Event)

The next evening brought something completely different.

The Fashion Ball transformed the arena into a stylish event space filled with formal wear, glamour, and elegant staging.

For one night, the building felt less like an arena and more like a giant ballroom.

It was another example of how quickly the venue can reinvent itself.

April 28th – Louis Tomlinson (Music)

Towards the end of the month, Louis Tomlinson arrived in Leeds.

The arena was packed with passionate fans singing every word back to the stage. The atmosphere was electric from start to finish.

As always, once the crowd headed home, the night crew got to work preparing everything for the next event.

April 29th – Alex Warren (Music)

The following night belonged to Alex Warren.

A newer name compared to some of the month’s other artists, but the reaction from the crowd showed exactly why he’s become so popular.

The audience was fully engaged from start to finish, creating another memorable night inside the arena.

April 30th – Ne-Yo (Music)

April closed with Ne-Yo, bringing smooth vocals and hit after hit to the arena.

It was the perfect way to finish the month.

The crowd sang along, the atmosphere stayed upbeat throughout, and by the end it felt like a fitting finale to one of the busiest months of the year so far.

Final Thoughts

April 2026 had everything.

Rock legends, modern chart stars, family entertainment, strongman competition, fashion events, and even a Rick Roll from Rick Astley himself.

From giant tyres and atlas stones to dollhouses and dance floors, every week felt completely different.

That’s what makes working at Leeds Arena so unique.

One night you’re watching Europe’s strongest athletes pull trucks. The next you’re being Rick Rolled by Rick Astley.

And somehow, it all happens in the same building.

["post-318","work","type-work","status-publish","hentry
["GET
