October 2025 – A Quiet Month with Big Laughs and Familiar Voices

After a busy September, October slowed right down — fewer shifts, quieter nights, and a bit more breathing room between events. Not every month needs to be chaos, and sometimes the slower ones remind you why the rhythm matters.

October 11th & 12th – John Bishop:

25 Years Tour

Comedian John Bishop rolled into the First Direct Arena in Leeds on Saturday 11 October and Sunday 12 October 2025.

The two-nights celebrated his 25 years of stand-up — a mix of stories, laughter, and crowd connection. By the time our crew stepped in, the jokes had stopped but the buzz remained: laughter echoes, relaxed seating, and the odd over-enthusiastic sign still in hand.

Clean-up was breezy: mostly drink cups, snacks, and a few dropped programmes. Two snug shifts that let us catch our breath before things ramp back up.

October 29th – Marti Pellow

Marti Pellow hit the arena on Wednesday 29 October 2025 — part of his Love Is All Around 30th Anniversary Tour.

A soulful night of ballads, nostalgia, and hits from his time with Wet Wet Wet. The crowd was polished, the mood mellow, and by the time we cleaned, it felt like gently closing a book rather than the usual stormy end.

The work: bottles, scarves, soft chatter still hanging in the air — undone easily compared to a frenzied concert night.

Wrapping Up October

Quiet months have their own charm. October was calm, reflective, and reminded me that even fewer shifts still mean meaningful work. Two nights of comedy and one smooth musical close-out, and we were done.

Now, November’s lining up. Who knows what’s next — but whatever it is, I’ll be ready.
