Leeds United have been drawn away to Nottingham Forest in the second round of the EFL Cup, following the draw made live on television tonight.
The draw means Leeds will make back-to-back trips to the City Ground, with United already scheduled to face Nottingham Forest away in the Premier League on Saturday 22 August.
Just days later, the Whites will return to Nottingham for their opening League Cup fixture of the 2026/27 campaign. Leeds United have confirmed that the cup clash forms part of an opening-week double-header at the City Ground.
The second-round tie is currently scheduled for the week commencing Monday 24 August, with Leeds’ previously announced key dates listing the second round for Wednesday 26 August. Further fixture details remain subject to confirmation.
It gives Leeds an all-Premier League tie at their first stage of this season’s competition and means supporters will become very familiar with the trip to the City Ground during the opening weeks of the new season.
