A Cleaner’s Perspective: Working at Leeds Arena in March 2024

March 2024 was an exciting month at Leeds Arena, and as a cleaner, I had a front-row seat to all the action. The month kicked off with the magical ‘Disney on Ice’ from the 1st to the 3rd. The venue was filled with wide-eyed children and their families. The aftermath was a sea of popcorn and candy wrappers, but seeing the joy on the kids’ faces made the clean-up worth it. On the 5th, we hosted OMD, followed by Ne-Yo on the 8th. These were nights filled with music and dancing, and I had my work cut out for me cleaning up after the energetic crowds. The 9th brought Jason Derulo to the stage. The energetic performance left the crowd buzzing and the venue in need of a serious clean. Then, on the 13th, we had a change of pace with Judas Priest. There was a different vibe, a little more rock and roll, and a lot more beer! The 15th saw Simple Minds take the stage, followed by Peter Key on the 22nd. These shows brought in diverse crowds, each leaving their own unique mess for me to tackle. The 23rd was a special day. I took my mum and aunties to see Marti Pellow. It was a great show, and even though I had to clean up afterwards, it was a memorable night. The loudest band so far, Pendulum, performed on the 24th. The energy was through the roof! That night, the cleaning was no small task. Finally, to round off the month, we had the mellow sounds of James Blunt on the 30th. It was a pleasant way to end a month of diverse events. Being a cleaner at Leeds Arena is hard work, especially in a month as busy as March 2024. But the energy, the music, and the people make it an incredibly rewarding experience. Here’s to more music, more cleaning, and more unforgettable experiences!
