A Cleaner’s Perspective: Working at Leeds Arena in June 2024

My Experience Working as a Cleaner at Leeds Arena in June 2024

As a cleaner at Leeds Arena, I’ve had the privilege of being part of a team that keeps the venue spotless and ready for the wide range of events we host. June 2024 was a particularly memorable month filled with diverse events that kept us on our toes. The month kicked off with the final 2024 performance of Peter Kay on the 1st. The comedy genius filled the arena with laughter, leaving behind a cheerful atmosphere for us to clean up. On the 7th, we welcomed Romesh Ranganathan. His quick wit and unique perspective on everyday life had the crowd in stitches. Despite the laughter, the audience was respectful and left the arena in a decent state for us to clean. James music graced our arena on the 8th, their melodies echoing off the walls long after the fans had left. Cleaning up after a music concert is always a unique experience, with lost items varying from glow sticks to hats! Comic Con Mania took over the arena on the 9th. The event was colorful, and so was the cleanup operation. We even found a few abandoned superhero capes and masks! Girls Aloud took the stage on the 15th and 16th, bringing their pop anthems and high energy performances. The fans left a glitzy mess of confetti and glow sticks, but it was all part of the fun. The Kings of Leon rocked the arena on the 20th. Their fans were a passionate bunch, but they were surprisingly tidy, leaving us with less work than expected. The Leeds Tattoo Expo added a different tone to the arena. It was interesting to see a more artistic side of Leeds and the cleanup was a breeze. Finally, to end the month on a high note, we had Bluey on the 29th. The arena was filled with families and young fans, and while the cleanup was quite the task, the joy and excitement of the event made it all worthwhile. Looking back, June 2024 was a month full of laughter, music, and hard work. As a cleaner at Leeds Arena, I can honestly say that I wouldn’t trade this experience for anything.
