A Cleaner’s Perspective: Working at Leeds Arena in May 2024

A Month in the Life of a Cleaner at Leeds Arena: May 2024

May 2024 was an exciting month as a cleaner at the Leeds Arena. On the 3rd, we had Kene’s performance, which attracted a diverse crowd of music lovers. Ensuring the venue remained clean during and after the event was challenging but rewarding. The very next day, we hosted “What’s Love Got To Do With It”, a tribute to the legendary Tina Turner. The energy was electric, and the fans left their mark, but we managed to return the arena to its pristine state. On the 9th, we had the live broadcast of the Darts on Sky. The excitement was palpable, and the aftermath was equally evident. But as always, we took it in our stride, keeping the venue spotless for the next event. On the 10th, we hosted a Corporate Event for Ten Ten staff. The professionalism of such events makes clean-up a bit easier, but we still worked hard to ensure the space was impeccable. The 11th was a personal highlight. I brought my aunt and her husband and friends to see Jack Black perform in Tenacious D. Not only did I get to see their joy, but I also experienced the satisfaction of maintaining the cleanliness of the arena during an event I personally enjoyed. Elbow, the music group, performed on the 12th. Fans from all walks of life came to enjoy the music, and we ensured they had a clean, welcoming space to do so. On the 16th, we welcomed Andre Rieu. The classical music event brought a different crowd, but the cleaning requirements remained the same. Finally, at the end of the month, on the 25th, we hosted the DNZA Matchroom Boxing event. The intensity of boxing matches can mean a lot of clean-up afterward, but it was all part of a day’s work. Each event brought its own unique challenges and rewards, but throughout it all, I took pride in keeping Leeds Arena clean and ready for each new day.
