Continuing on from my 2022 round up of my work at the First Direct Arena Leeds Click here to have a read at some of the events and biggest names in the entertainment industry I had the pleasure of working for in 2022 What a year it’s been for my first full January to December at the Leeds arena as a casual post event cleaner (if you don’t know what that means then it means my team go in overnight after that event is finished and make sure the arena looks like nothings happened and get it ready for the next event ), I have been fortunate enough to be allowed to work for some of the biggest names in the entertainment industry from Elton John, George Ezra, Snoop dog, busted, shania Twain, Iron Maiden, Peter Kay, Lewis Capaldi, bbc strictly dancing, Disney on Ice, Duran Duran, Donny Osmond, Noel Gallagher just to name a handful And after seeing a little bit of the show while I wait for my shift to start I have gone home and Spotify listened to the performer and thought wow there brilliant I have also been allowed to be involved with some events which have been on normal sky virgin bt tv the post event of the wheelchair rugby on bbc and Europe’s Strongest Man – 2023 which was released on channel 5 as part of there worlds strongest man 2023 season (watch here https://www.channel5.com/show/world-s-strongest-man-2023/season-2023/europe-s-strongest-man) And some exhibitions / graduations like Leeds tattoo exhibition, Leeds city council employment and skills department, Leeds becket university august graduation ceremony The job can be physically hard when you have the same event up to five times in a row, but at the end of the day it doesn’t matter what team we are in (from stage crew (internal and tour) to full time office employees to cleaners (me) to food and beverage to showsec (show security ) and to the fantastic security staff who work around the clock to make sure the arena is safe and secure for anyone who is in the building at any moment ) we all work hard as one team to help you have the best possible experience even if we don’t physically help other teams out And to top off me turning 28 this year cos when it comes to birthdays people think ah 🤬it and book it off but no not me I worked my birthday because I got to see IRON MAIDEN yes you heard that right now how many people can say that they spent their 28th birthday working for IRON MAIDEN I can 🙌 See you next year at the arena for another cracking year of events
